The Ondrela Gold card in a wallet card slot — its actual thickness adds almost no bulk.
Quick summary
Intended use: Ondrela is designed for tracking your own belongings. Using it to covertly track another person without their consent is not its intended purpose and may be unlawful.
That feeling of losing something
That brief moment of panic at the till when your wallet isn't in the pocket it should be. The sinking feeling at the baggage carousel when your suitcase is the last one out — or doesn't turn up at all. The frantic patting of every jacket pocket for your keys while a taxi waits outside.
These moments have less to do with carelessness and more to do with everyday life: we switch bags, hop in and out of cars, put things down "just for a second." Most lost items aren't really gone — they're sitting at home, in the car, or at that café from earlier. The problem isn't that they're missing, it's that we don't know exactly where.
That's exactly the everyday moment a tracker is built for: not a replacement for paying attention, but a reliable second layer that tells you where something was last seen, right when your own memory isn't cooperating.
What exactly is Ondrela?
The Ondrela Gold card is an ultra-thin tracker card, sized like a standard credit card. Instead of running its own separate tracking network, it plugs into infrastructure most smartphones already have built in: Apple's Find My network on iPhone, or the Google Find My Device network on Android.
In practice, that means no extra app and no separate account. On an iPhone, the card simply shows up as another item in the Find My app you already use; on Android, it appears in Find My Device. There are no subscription or monthly fees — you buy and set up the card once.
The real innovation isn't so much the tracking technology itself as the form factor: the electronics are built flat enough that the card slides into any card slot without adding noticeable bulk — unlike bulkier, traditional tracker fobs.

How it works
The card broadcasts an encrypted Bluetooth signal. Nearby smartphones — regardless of who owns them — pick up this signal anonymously and relay an approximate encrypted location to the relevant network. Only you can decrypt that information using your own Apple or Google account to see where your card is.
Worth understanding upfront: this isn't direct GPS satellite tracking. The accuracy and speed of the location update depends on how many smartphones are nearby. In cities and busy areas it's very reliable in practice, because devices are constantly in range. In very remote areas with little foot traffic, location updates can be delayed or less precise.
If the card is close by — somewhere in your home, for instance — you can make it play a sound through the app and track it down by ear, with no network needed at all.
Left-behind alerts
Ondrela can detect when you leave the card behind and send an instant notification with its last known location.
Built-in ring alert
Card nearby but out of sight? One tap makes it play a sound you can follow.
iPhone and Android
Compatible with Apple's Find My network and Google Find My Device — no extra app required.
Roughly 6 months battery life
No constant recharging thanks to low-power Bluetooth technology.
Wireless charging
Just place it on a Qi charging pad — no cable port on the card itself.
Water-resistant
Handles rain and splashes without issue — not designed for sustained submersion.
Use case by use case
Five concrete everyday situations — and what you can realistically expect.
Wallet
The moment: You're at the till and your wallet isn't there — was it left at the café, in the car, in another jacket?
The card simply sits in a card slot and, thanks to its thinness, doesn't add bulk. If it goes missing, the app shows the last known location, so you can retrace your steps with a starting point instead of blindly searching everywhere.
Luggage
The moment: The carousel keeps turning and your suitcase hasn't shown up — was it loaded, misrouted, mixed up?
Tucked into an outer pocket or inner compartment, the card gives you at least a rough location once your case comes near nearby smartphones — say, around the airport grounds. If it's travelling through a cargo hold with no nearby devices, updates can be delayed.
Keys
The moment: The taxi is waiting outside, and your keys seem to have vanished off the face of the earth.
Attached to your keyring (via a suitable case with an opening), the card lets you simply make it ring if it's lost somewhere at home — usually the fastest fix, well before any network location is even needed.
Bike
The moment: Your bike was parked outside the shops — and now it isn't.
Fitted into a weatherproof mount on the frame or seat post, the card can help you find its last known location. Worth knowing: it's not a substitute for a lock or theft insurance, but an extra clue if the worst happens.
Backpack
The moment: Set down on the train, briefly distracted — and when you get off, your backpack isn't with you.
Stashed in an inner pocket, the card reports its last location as soon as it comes within Bluetooth range of a network smartphone — handy for quickly working out whether the backpack is still on the train, on the platform, or already further away.
Features in detail
Battery life & wireless charging
The built-in battery is designed for around 6 months of use per charge, depending on how often it's used, ambient temperature, and how often the ring feature is triggered. It recharges wirelessly on any standard Qi charging pad, with no cable port on the card itself.
Thinness & no added bulk
The card is credit-card sized and a comparable thickness. That's really the whole point: it slides into an existing card slot without making your wallet noticeably thicker — unlike many traditional tracker fobs, which add a visible attachment that takes up extra room.
Water resistance — what it actually means
The card is water-resistant and copes fine with rain, snow and splashes. That's not the same as being fully waterproof for sustained submersion — so avoid holding it underwater for extended periods or, for example, taking it swimming.
No subscription costs
Because tracking runs on Apple's and Google's existing networks, there are no ongoing fees after purchase — a real point of difference from tracker systems that run their own paid mobile tracking network.
Privacy — how your data stays protected
For a product that handles location data, transparency isn't a nice-to-have — it's a reasonable expectation, especially for a UK audience that rightly pays close attention to privacy.
Location detection runs entirely through your own Apple or Google account, not through a server operated by Ondrela. The card's signal is transmitted encrypted; only the owner, signed into their own account, can decrypt it and see the actual location. Ondrela has no access of its own to the real-time location data of the cards it sells.
That's a structural difference from tracker systems where location data passes through the manufacturer's own servers and could theoretically be viewed or analysed there. With Ondrela, control stays where it belongs: with you, and your own Apple or Google account.
Any personal data handled as part of ordering and shipping is processed in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Details on retention, legal basis and your rights are available in our Privacy Policy.
Protection against misuse — built-in safeguards
Card-shaped trackers could, in theory, be misused to secretly track another person — a real, documented risk with this category of device. That's exactly why we want to address it directly here, rather than bury it in fine print.
Both Apple's Find My network and Google Find My Device include automatic detection of unknown trackers: if a tracker that isn't linked to someone's own account travels with their phone for an extended period, that person receives an automatic alert on their device. This lets them recognise that an unfamiliar tracker is moving with them and respond accordingly.
This isn't a bolted-on afterthought — it's a deliberate, built-in part of both networks, and in our view a genuine trust feature, not just a legal safeguard. It shows the underlying infrastructure was designed with protection against exactly this kind of misuse in mind.
Who this is for (and who it isn't)
Likely a good fit
Anyone who regularly misplaces their wallet, keys, luggage or a bag, and wants a simple, subscription-free way to find their own belongings again.
Not intended for
Tracking the belongings or movements of another person without their knowledge or consent. That is not the intended purpose of this product.
Setup & realistic expectations
Setup takes just a few minutes: on iPhone, the card is added as a new item in the Find My app you already have; on Android, the equivalent is Google Find My Device. No separate account or additional app is needed.
Realistically, it's worth setting the right expectation for crowd-network technology from the outset: the location update is only as good as the number of smartphones near the card. In cities, on trains, at airports or on busy high streets, you can count on fast, reliable updates. On an isolated country walk or in sparsely populated areas, it can take noticeably longer for the location to refresh — simply because fewer devices are nearby to relay the signal.
What customers say
Illustrative, representative feedback.
"I keep it in my wallet and honestly don't notice it's there. Left my wallet on the train once — the location update showed me exactly where I'd left it."
— M. K., London
"Really handy for luggage at the airport. Great around the terminal — inside the hold itself the location took a bit longer to update, which is fair enough."
— T. R., Manchester
"No subscription was the main reason I bought it. Just works straight through Find My, which I already had set up."
— S. F., Edinburgh

Frequently asked questions
Can I use this to track another person?
No. Ondrela is intended solely for tracking your own belongings. Covertly tracking another person without their consent is not the intended purpose and may be unlawful. Both Apple's and Google's networks automatically detect unknown trackers that travel with a person and alert that person.
Do I need a special app or a subscription?
No. Ondrela uses the location network already built into your phone — Apple's Find My network on iPhone, or Google Find My Device on Android. There are no subscription or monthly fees.
How long does the battery last?
The card is designed for roughly 6 months of use per charge, depending on frequency of use and temperature. It recharges wirelessly.
Is the card waterproof?
The card is water-resistant and can handle splashes, rain and damp environments. This does not mean it is designed for full submersion or swimming.
Can Ondrela see or store my location?
Location detection runs entirely through your own Apple or Google account. Ondrela does not operate its own tracking server and has no access to your real-time location data.
What happens if I'm outside a city?
Location tracking relies on a crowd network of nearby smartphones, not direct GPS satellite tracking. It works very reliably in densely populated areas; in remote regions with fewer nearby devices, updates can be delayed or less accurate.
How do I find the card if it's somewhere in my home?
Using the Find My app or Google Find My Device, you can make the card play a sound so you can locate it by ear.
What's the returns process?
In addition to your statutory rights under UK consumer law, we offer our own extended return window — see our Returns Policy for details.
What warranty applies to Ondrela?
This product is covered by your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, in addition to our own warranty terms.
Will the card fit in any wallet?
The card is credit-card sized and thickness, so it fits in virtually any card slot, luggage pocket, or keyring pouch with a suitable opening.
Our verdict
The Ondrela Gold card does exactly what a well-made tracker should: it blends unobtrusively into your wallet, luggage or keyring, and gives you a concrete starting point in the moment that matters, instead of a blind search.
It's not a substitute for a bike lock, theft insurance, or direct GPS satellite tracking — accuracy depends on how dense the crowd network is in your area. Anyone who understands that, and uses the card for its actual purpose — finding your own wallet, your own suitcase, your own keys — gets a thoughtful, subscription-free and pleasantly unobtrusive tool in return.
